About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Grain Elevator Location Manager to oversee operations at a regional agricultural facility. In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for managing grain handling, storage, safety, and staff performance while ensuring efficient and profitable daily operations.

The ideal candidate combines operational know-how with strong leadership and communication skills — someone who enjoys working with farmers, leading teams, and maintaining a safe, productive facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of grain elevator operations — receiving, drying, storage, blending, and shipping.

  • Lead and develop a team; handle hiring, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Maintain grain quality and oversee grading, weighing, and inventory control.

  • Monitor expenses, budgets, and inventory levels to ensure profitability.

  • Implement and enforce safety, environmental, and compliance programs (OSHA, DOT, EPA).

  • Coordinate grain marketing, logistics, and customer service with internal teams.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local producers and commercial partners.

  • Oversee accounting records for sales, inventory, and expenses.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

  • Communicate regularly with regional management and participate in business planning.

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability.


Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of grain elevator or ag operations leadership experience.

  • Knowledge of grain handling systems, quality control, and inventory management.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coach employees effectively.

  • Computer proficiency; experience with accounting or inventory software preferred.

  • Grain grading and weighing certification a plus.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Lift up to 50–100 lbs as needed and work extended seasonal hours.

  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors around moving machinery and grain dust.

  • Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.

  • PPE and safety training provided.
