Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and tools. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints, programming CNC equipment, and ensuring that all products meet strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines (lathe, mill, or other precision machinery) to produce high-quality components.
- Programming & Adjustments: Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and work instructions; program CNC machines as needed.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure machines are functioning properly.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Material Handling: Load and unload raw materials, replace tools, and adjust machine speeds/feeds as necessary.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean workspace, and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Process Improvement: Work with engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with CNC machine operation, setup, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with G-code, M-code, and CNC programming
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Knowledge of safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining preferred
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
- Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus
Work Conditions:
- Standing for extended periods and lifting materials up to 50 lbs
- Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Exposure to noise, dust, and machine oils
