Career Responsibilities:
- Manages the overall grain inventory to maximize profitability for the company while utilizing the necessary risk management tools that are consistent with the grain position policy.
- Assist the elevator personnel in logistics for inbound and outbound movement of grain.
- Provide cash flow projections, storage plans and budget for the grain department.
- Support grain department policies and adhere to controls of the department and company as per the Authorized Grain Position Policy.
- Maintain and develop the marketing skills to add to the growth of the Grain Division.
- Maintain the grain bids to insure an inbound flow of grain in a competitive footprint.
- Communicate with end users and make regular sales of grain to maintain elevator logistics, while achieving company profit goals and objectives.
- Support and develop strong communications with all grain locations and customers which enhances grain origination for the company.
- Provide regular updates to Senior Staff and Board of Directors.
- Read and follow company employee policies.
- Accepts additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the President / CEO.
Are You Qualified?
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability and willingness to learn company specific software.
- Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and hedging experience required.
- Prior experience in grain origination and selling both truck and rail.
- Proven record of growing grain origination.
- Prior experience leading a team to achieve and maintain goals and a positive work environment.
- Excellent Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Ability and willingness to work longer hours as business conditions warrants.
- Valid driver’s license
- Favorable pre-employment screening results
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 5-10 years of relative experience.
